   Initially only got one because of cost and was skeptical. Put it on our countertop and within a couple of days all of our cats (10+) have stayed off the countertop. Even the babies have learned. Used the lowest setting and has worked great. Sometimes forget to turn it on and cats still stay off. I am ordering a couple more for other problem areas in house! Love it and well worth the cost!    Since I have a cattery in my home, I don't know what I'd do without ScatMats! Even the kittens learn about them at 7 or 8 weeks old. It helps keep them out of areas that are unsafe, not to mention keeping all the cats off counters or out of cupboards! I would recomend these to anyone in need of a training aid for any pet.    We bought several mats to deter our Bloodhounds and Chihuahua from counter cruisin' and our love seat. Within a couple uses the problem was taken care of. We have only had the mats for a couple of weeks and have only used them with the power turned on. All the dogs avoid the mats and now stay where they are allowed.
   I was hesitant to purchase the mats initially, because of cost. But compared to the cost of furniture or a vet call for a pet that ate something he shouldn't I have changed my thinking completely. We tell everyone how well they worked for us. Thanks again. (Posted on 12/28/09)

   I have a german shepherd I have been trying to keep out of the living room.but she kept crawling in. well one step on the mat. I have it still down but not on and she stays in the kitchen. Great one day, and I'd been trying for weeks,it also worked on our shih tzu to also stay out of the living room.

   WOW! Super effective. I have a very stubborn chihuahua who loved to dig in my plants, pull up pieces of dirt and carry it all across the room to play with. I come home to dirt everywhere. I tried everything.....sprays, bitter apple, sticky tape, even chili pepper flakes. Nothing worked until I got the Scat Mat. In less then 2 days, after what I believe was 1 zap, my chihuahua makes a 10 foot detour around my plants. They have not been touched ever since.
   
   Absolutely the greatest dog derrent ever. Unfortunately it can't be used outdoors. Would also be great if they made a circular or semi-circular Scat Mat to put around plants, trashcans, and floor lamps.

   I was a bit skeptical of this product at first. I had tried vinyl runners turned over ( so the prickles were on top) to keep him from getting on the couch and chairs. I had them tucked in to the cushions too. He just pulled them off. I bought the scat mat for the couch because I was sick of having to barricade it with other stuff (usually kitchen chairs) whenever we went out. He pulled this one off one time (my fault because I didn't activate the mat). After that he has stayed off. Now I am buying two more for the chairs. I use it on the highest setting for him. I also have Invisible Fence outdoor pet containment. I had debated on getting indoor containment, which I think would have worked well, but costs $149 per unit. I would have needed two units. The cost of the mats is half that and I can put them on anything. (Posted on 8/29/09)

   Works EXACTLY as advertised. My dog & cat learned in a single day to stay off the mat, and now they check the surface of my bed before they even THINK about jumping up! This is the best solution for keeping my pets off my furniture while I'm at work all day. (Posted on 8/8/09)
